Cash reward being offered to anyone who can help find Michigan shooter

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY (WJRT) -

(10/24/12) - The reward being offered for the arrest of a shooting suspect, targeting Mid-Michigan motorists is now even higher. It's at $12,000.

More than 20 cars have been damaged by bullets in Ingham, Livingston, Shiawassee and Oakland Counties.

Parents are paying close attention.

The task force team handling this case has received more than 250 tips, as of Tuesday.

The playgrounds are empty in Perry Public Schools. Recess was canceled because of the most recent shootings.

"It's a little scary. I worry about my kids everyday when they walk to school, but this makes it worse," said Kristina McClure, a mother of four.

McClure's glad her children won't be going out for recess. There were three shootings in her county.

Most of the shootings in all four counties were along I-96.

"Who knows where this guy is going to go," McClure said.

Police have released a sketch of the man who is shooting at tires, rims and the grilles of cars. They think he's in his 30s. He may be driving a 98 Oldsmobile Alero or a 98 Toyota Camry.

"If someone thinks their vehicle has been hit, it's important that they get a hold of us immediately," said Shiawassee County Sheriff George Braidwood.

"I'm concerned about my children, of course, I just hope they find the person before someone gets killed. I think that's the worry is that the next ting that's going to happen is that they're going to kill someone," said Michele Bell, who also has children in Perry Public Schools.

Members of the task force team handling this case want to stress that there haven't been any shootings since Oct.18.

If you have any tips that could lead to our arrest, call 1-800-SPEAK UP.
