(10/25/12) - From the President to the proposals, in 12 days, Mid-Michigan voters will face a long ballot.
And for the first time in 36 years, many will elect someone new to represent Mid-Michigan in the 5th District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The boundaries of the 5th district were redrawn for the 2012 election.
It covers all of Genesee County, moves north through parts of Saginaw and Tuscola Counties, and includes all of Bay, Arenac, and Iosco Counties.
Representative Dale Kildee has held the seat since he was first elected in 1976. Earlier this year, Kildee announced he was retiring.
Now, Republican Jim Slezak and Democrat Dan Kildee are vying for that seat.
