More than 100 jobs are coming to Mid-Michigan

KOCHVILLE TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(10/25/12) - One of Michigan's largest tourist attractions plans to start hiring full, part time, and seasonal employees.

Cabela's Outpost is opening a new 43,000 square foot store.

It's in the old Circuit City Building on Tittabawassee Road, near M-84, or Bay Road, in Kochville Township.

More than 100 people are expected to be hired at the store.

Interviews will run Nov. 7 - 10. Applications must be submitted online.

Most of the employees are expected to come from Saginaw and surrounding cities.

The general manager is looking for workers who like the outdoors and have good customer service skills.

The popular chain is well known to hunters and those who like the outdoors.

The outpost will be smaller than the Dundee store.

ABC12 asked folks how they feel about the jobs that are coming to their region. Those we talked to are glad to know that more jobs are coming to their region.

"I think when we have new jobs coming to our area, it's best for the whole economy and the area and the people that are looking for work. It's very important," said Melvin Hauck.

"I just worry. It's a big store and there's another similar store down the road. I worry about big stores coming in. It's great to get new jobs, but the thing is keeping them," said Chris Gutierrez.

This is the second Cabela's in Michigan. The store is expected to open its doors at the beginning of next year.
