(11/02/12) - Two men have been charged in an armed robbery at a Mt. Morris Township bank. The Citizens Bank branch, on Pierson Road near Elms Road, was hit Tuesday morning.
Police have patrol car video showing what happened after the bank was robbed - a car leaving the parking lot and crashing into two police cars before crashing into a utility pole.
The video shows two people exiting the car and at least two officers running after them. Both suspects were arrested after a brief foot chase.
Police say those suspects are Demario Banks and Denzel Berry. They went before a judge Friday.
Banks has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of bank robbery, two counts of assault with intent to murder and two gun charges - including being a felon in possession of a weapon.
Banks told the judge he recently graduated from Flint Northern High School and is now an unemployed Mott Community College student.
Denzel Berry faces nearly the same charges, but also two counts of felonious assault for allegedly striking the police cars. Berry faces two counts of armed robbery, two counts of bank robbery, two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of felony firearm.
The assault with intent to murder charges stem from two bank employees being attacked during the robbery.
Police continue to investigate whether Berry and Banks to other recent bank robberies.
They will be back in court later this month.
Police say more than $30,000 was taken from bank on Pierson Road. Most has been recovered. Citizens even helped pick up some of the cash after the crash, but some of the money remains missing.
Police want to remind the public - it is evidence. They're looking to get that cash back.
