(11/08/12) - Flint's Mott Community College is honoring military veterans Thursday.
The Veteran Celebration and Awareness event runs until 2 p.m.
The program features a handful of speakers who will discuss the challenges vets face as they re-enter civilian life. A special POW ceremony will also be held, and campus resources for veterans will be explained.
"We want to bring all the benefits that our veterans deserve, compensation, education, anywhere from VA home loans to general resources that our veterans have. Maybe they don't know they're eligible for them. We really want them to come to our Veteran's Resource Center and we'll work with them," said Chris Engle, Mott Veteran Services registrar.
Mott currently has more than 250 student veterans on campus through the Montgomery G.I. Bill.
