Flint police plan arrest despite marijuana initiative

Posted: Updated:

(11/09/12) - Flint voters passed it. People 19 and older can now possess less than an ounce of marijuana.

But Thursday night, police say that doesn't mean smoking pot is legal in the city.

City leaders say there are both state and federal laws on the books that makes marijuana possession illegal.

"We are still going to enforce the laws like we have been enforcing the law and that should be well known," said Flint police chief Alvern Lock.
