(11/11/12) - Two more fallen American Heroes' names were added to the Memorial Columns at McFarlan Park in Flint on Sunday.
Flint's Robert Perry disappeared after two days in the water following the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in 1945. Sgt. Joseph Lilly died from injuries he sustained while serving in Afghanistan, this summer. Both were from Flint.
Some of Perry's relatives were on hand for the Veterans Day Service. They say the park is a wonderful tribute to all the men and women who have died serving their countries.
Sunday also marked another milestone for McFarlan Park. Management of the memorial was transferred from the city to a group of citizens and veterans called 'Friends of McFarlan Park.'
