(11/14/12) - A program that assists thousands of Mid-Michigan seniors in need just got some help of their own.
G-CARD, which runs the Meals on Wheels program, got a brand new kitchen.
It's right around breakfast time, but these GCARD employees are already making lunch.
Over the next couple of hours, they'll prepare nearly 3,000 meals for seniors in need.
The Meals on Wheels program provides seniors with two meals a day. They also send food to Genesee County senior centers.
Now a brand new kitchen on Lippincott will dramatically increase the number of meals they can serve up.
Their old pantry was a about a third of the size of the new one, so clearly they'll be able to store a lot more.
The kitchen boasts new, state of the art equipment and stove and oven capacity has doubled.
