(11/15/12) - A Lapeer County murder trial is close to wrapping up.
A jury is trying to decide if a Sandusky man is guilty of murdering and mutilating an elderly woman.
Both sides made their case, and now it's up to the jury. Closing statements were made Thursday morning. This trial started last week, but it's a case six years in the making.
86-year-old Marie Warren was found in a ditch, five miles from her home, by horseback riders back in 2006. She was beaten and her body mutilated.
Investigators say they linked Frank Choate to the crime through DNA on a single strand of hair.
