DNR expects busy weekend - ABC 12 – WJRT – Flint, MI

(11/16/12) - The weather may not be the only thing that's better than expected for hunters this weekend.

Going into firearm deer season, the department of natural resources was concerned about EHD, a deadly virus deer have been facing this year. Deer with EHD have been found dead in many counties across Michigan.

Friday, we caught up with DNR officials at a Deer Check station in Vienna Township. They say so far, they have been very happy with reports from the woods.

At the deer check station in Clio, the DNR says they've been slow so far, but expect a very busy weekend.
