Genesee Co. church shot at early Sunday morning

FOREST TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(11/25/12) - Bullet holes pierced through a Genesee County church, leaving the congregation wondering why.

It happened early Sunday morning at the Reformation Bible Church in Forest Township.

Pastor Brad Long says four or five bullets went straight through the wall, and into a Sunday school room.

The bullets were discovered Sunday morning when people started arriving for school.

A few bullets barely missed a painted cross inside a classroom.

"That cross is the means of healing and deliverance," Long said. "We would invite those people who forced those bullets through the wall to join us."

Long says they called State Police, and they believe the bullets were shot from a hand gun.

No one was at the church when it happened, but this isn't the first time the church has seen crime.

About a month ago, Long says someone broke in and ransacked the church. Nothing was taken, and Long believes they were searching for cash.

"We as a church, we're not going anywhere, it is our testimony, it is our faith we believe, we must follow in the foot steps," Long said. "We're not going to be in fear, we just feel sorry for people like this who have reached a depth of really barbarism and ungodliness."
