12 "miracle puppies" are ready for adoption

Posted: Updated:

(11/30/12) - Twelve Miracle Puppies, dubbed the "12 Puppies of Christmas" will soon be ready for adoption. The puppies were born via caesarean in October at the Humane Society of Genesee County. Their mom was dropped off abruptly, shortly before she gave birth.

Dawn Johnson with the humane society tells us the puppies weren't expected to survive. "Once we got started, there were 12 of them and they weren't breathing or anything when they were taken out of her, so they had to be resuscitated and rubbed and cleaned and I think we worked on the puppies about an hour, hour and a half before they were all squeaking, making noise, and laying in the basket breathing on their own," Johnson saod/

They're now healthy and will be ready for adoption in a week. If you'd like to adopt a puppy, you have to fill out an application. To do that, click HERE.
