(12/01/12) - A bronze statue, paying tribute to the creator of Buick automobile, was unveiled Saturday.

A statue of David Dunbar Buick is located in the heart of downtown Flint, near the statue of Louis Chevrolet.

Buick's great grandson, Douglas W. Boes, flew in from California to watch the unveiling.

He also donated his great grandfather's small brass cannon to the Sloan museum.

The cannon was used by Buick in the 19th century.

The 'Back to the Bricks Committee says two more statues have been funded and are expected to be unveiled near year.
