The Dickens Festival was a success in downtown Holly

Posted: Updated:

(12/02/12) - It's been going on for 39 years. It's The Dickens Festival in Downtown Holly.

The festival celebrates the Charles Dickens Classic "A Christmas Carol."

That story is being told on the stage in Downtown Holly. You can catch the next shows Dec. 8 and 9.

Organizers tell us that nearly 5,000 people stopped by Saturday to see the show.

"Dickens Festival in this town has become really the signature thing of this town, people come from all over, if you run into people they will say 'Oh, Holly, we must come there for the Dickens Destival,'' said Festival Co-Chairperson Richard Rossell.

Organizers tell us funds were low this year.
