Michigan Troops return home for the holidays

Posted: Updated:

(12/02/12) - It was a hero's homecoming for nearly 150 military men and women.

The army's 1462nd transportation unit is back home. They were greeted by family and friends at Lansing Airport Sunday.

This after a long deployment in Afghanistan and Kuwait.

"Well it really sucked for us, yeah she was not happy we missed Christmas and her birthday. But it is a good Christmas present to be home," said Staff Sgt. Tracy Schupp.

"Christmas, it was kinda sad because I had all of my kids here in Saginaw, and my oldest boy was the only one who was not here this year. Thank you, Lord, I will have all my kids back this Christmas," said Beverly Tatum.

Despite conducting more than 800 missions overseas, every last member of the unit has made it home.
