(12/03/12) - It was back to the books Monday at two Grand Blanc Township elementary schools.
Last week, illness shut down the schools.
About 40 students from Anderson and McGrath elementaries are still sick with a stomach bug, but that's half the number that were absent last week.
School officials say an outside cleaning company spent the weekend sanitizing the classrooms and buses, but they are still asking parents for help.
"If they really want to prevent the spread not only of norovirus or the flu or any other illness, what they can do is keep their students home when sick. Health department is saying students should be kept home 2-3 days, even after the symptoms stop," said Norm Abdella, Grand Blanc Schools superintendent.
We are told the sanitizing will continue every day after school - for the next two weeks.
