(12/03/12) - A Michigan mother continues her efforts to ban cell phone use behind the wheel for young drivers.
Bonnie Raffaele's daughter, Kelsey, died in an auto accident in 2010. She was using her cell phone when it happened.
Kelsey's Law would prohibit 16 and 17-year-old drivers from using their cell phones while driving, and allow police to issue fines of up to $100 for young drivers caught using their cell phone.
Kelsey's law has already passed in the state Senate, but the House hasn't taken any action on it.
If Kelsey's Law is not passed by the end of the year, it will expire and need to be re-introduced in the 2013 legislative session.
