(12/05/12) - In Saginaw County, police and the Glass Tender Company conducted a drill to train employees and officers.
The sheriff's office, along with police from Saginaw Valley State University and Carrollton, Kochville Fire Department and MMR, participated in what is called "active shooter training."
The drill was one of three conducted this year at various locations.
Police are trained not to wait, but immediately go in and secure the suspect when an active shooter situation is underway.
After the training, they do a debriefing to discuss what went right and wrong and how they could improve their techniques.
