Authorities say string of church break-ins are connected

UNDATED (WJRT) -

(12/07/12) - It's suppose to be a house of worship. Instead, it's become a target for thieves.

They have hit churches in Genesee and Livingston counties, along with several others in southern Michigan and Northern Ohio.

We have learned that those break-ins are connected, and various police departments are working together to catch the crooks.

We spoke with detectives from the Argentine Township Police Department. They tell us there is a task force made up of Michigan and Ohio officers who are working together.

But we already have one of the biggest clues -  a video catching the crooks on camera.

"These churches need to look into securing their churches, a little bit better alarm system, not leaving stuff out to be so accessible. However, if someone wants to get in, they will get in here," said Det. Doug Fulton, with the Argentine Police Department.

If you recognize the men in the photos, call Argentine Township Police.
