MICHIGAN (WJRT) -
(12/21/12) - DTE Energy Company says a new wind turbine development is up and running in Huron and Sanilac counties, and it's already working on another project in the area.
The Detroit-based utility just announced the completion of the Thumb Wind Park.
The 69 wind turbines are located on 15,000 acres in Bloomfield, McKinley and Sigel Townships in Huron County and Minden and Delaware townships in Sanilac County.
The development generates enough energy to power about 25,000 homes.
DTE says it plans to build its next wind turbine development in Huron County by the end of 2013.
