FLINT (WJRT) -
(12/24/12) - Hundreds gathered in downtown Flint Monday morning for Citizen's Bank 75th annual Holiday Sing.

The sounds of Christmas filled the lobby of the bank. Employees sang their hearts out, hoping to spread a little Christmas cheer. It's an event that has taken place every year since 1937.

"It's become a tradition for many families and for the city of Flint," said Greg Viener, president of Commercial Banking Mid-Michigan.

Dorothy Hawks hasn't missed a performance since 1949.

"Years ago, it used to start on the stairway going up stairs when the choir was little its gotten really big, particularly this year,"she said.

This year, the Citizens Bank Mixed Chorus celebrated its 75th performance.

"It's real big, anytime that you achieve a milestone of 75 years of doing anything now it's pretty big," Viener said.

Hundreds gathered to listen to the music, even Santa made an appearance. Many hope to continue the holiday tradition for years to come.

"I just think it brings out the great spirit that we have in our community," said Charles Rheingans.

The choir originally began as a duet in the late 30's, and expanded throughout the years.
