Quadski model set up at NAIAS

(01/18/13) - Not all of the interesting displays at the auto show in Detroit are on the main floor.

Gibbs Sports Amphibians has a model of its Quadski set up in the lobby of the Cobo Center.

The Quadski is made in Michigan. ABC12 News featured the unique machine in November.

The Quadski, which is manufactured in Auburn Hills, performs like an all-terrain vehicle on land, reaching speeds of up to 45 miles an hour. In five seconds, it converts to a personal watercraft.

This is the first time the Quadski has been shown at the Auto Show.

"There are lots of people very interested and excited and a lot of people who would very much like to get their hands on one. We're looking forward to seeing how well it does in the market later this year," said Graham Jenkins, of Gibbs Sports Amphibians.

The first Quadskis will be shipped to dealers later this month.
