FENTON TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(01/19/13) - It's been a long time coming. The National Hockey League lockout is over.

But as the pro's get back on the ice, there was plenty of hockey being played right here in Mid-Michigan.

Barnum Lake in Fenton Township was the site for the '2nd Annual Lake Fenton Winter Classic'.

The weekend tournament is going on behind the Fireplace Lounge.

The pond hockey tournament features 40 teams and 280 hockey players from across the Midwest.

Organizer Sean Lapham says the event is for the community.

"This is the best thing in the world to do. It's just something to give back to the community," Lapham says.
