(01/19/13) - The Saginaw community celebrated the life of Dorian Dawkins Saturday.
Five basketball games were played at Saginaw High to honor the fallen teen.
It is the fourth year for the 'Show Your Heart Memorial Classic'.
Dawkins died from an undetected heart defect the summer before his freshman year.
His dad is former Saginaw High coach Lou Dawkins.
Dorian Dawkins was rated among the Top 5 players in the nation for the class of 2013.
Dorian's mother Latricia Dawkins hopes that the event will continue for years to come.
"Dorian was such an intricate part of Saginaw High, and my husband Lou Dawkins was, is a part of Saginaw High. So we wanna keep the legacy going," Latricia said.
His parents were unaware that he had a rare heart condition.
All proceeds from the classic go to the American Heart Association and scholarships.
