(01/23/13) - The city of Flint is closer to officially out sourcing its waste collection services.
EFM Ed Kurtz says union members could ratify an agreement by the end of the week, with the new company taking over at the end of February.
The move is expected to save the city about $1 million a year and add recycling.
Kurtz says there is potential for the 24 city employees affected to be re-hired.
Kurtz did not name the new company because a contract hasn't been signed.
