Slick conditions to blame for multi-car crash

Posted: Updated:

(01/24/13) - Overnight snow made Mid-Michigan roads dangerous Thursday morning.

Police say I-69 in eastern Genesee County was very slippery. Davison Township Police say there were between 15 and 20 crashes on a stretch of the expressway.

At about 9:30 Thursday morning, two people got out of their car on the shoulder of eastbound I-69 and were struck by an out-of-control car.

A short distance away, there were more injuries when an SUV collided with a semi.

All injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The expressway was closed in both directions between State Road and Irish Road for two hours.

Officers say many people were driving too fast for the conditions.
