Snow leads to slick roads in Mid-Michigan

Posted: Updated:

(01/25/13) - Snow has left quite a few slick spots in Saginaw County.

Saginaw County 911 executive director Tom McIntyre says there have been dozens of accidents there. Those crashes haven't been major.

Most of them have been near bridges, overpasses and busy intersections. There have been several reports along I-675 and I-75.

When you're driving on the roads, one thing to keep in mind is that the snow could easily turn into ice.

McIntyre is asking drivers to slow down. The light snow isn't something to take for granted.

"As we always say, the lighter the snow, it usually causes problems, ever-changing weather conditions. I understand we're talking into next week it may be warmer, but they're also talking a chance about icing, so it's just the time of year where it's ever-changing, so please just allow more time, take your time and be looking outside and just drive carefully. Please," he said.

The Road Commission in quite a few counties have been out most of the morning.

Genesee County has also responded to a number of accidents. In Bay County, there was one minor accident Friday morning.
