(01/26/13) - Plans have been unveiled for the 'Veteran's Freedom Park of Clare County'.
It will feature electronic kiosks full of military history, and the 'Wall of Tears'. The wall will be engraved with the names of fallen hometown heroes.
The park will sit at the corner of N. Broad Street and M-61 in Harrison. That's right next to Harrison Community Schools' main campus, and across the street from the court house.
The district's superintendent says it will be a great learning experience for students.
Tom House adds it will be a great addition to another relatively new veterans memorial. "It will be different than the one in Coleman, but every bit if not more impressive, and they'll both be in the Central Michigan area. A great tribute to our veterans."
Organizers have already started raising the $400,000 needed for the project. For more information, click HERE.
