(01/30/13) - A judge has sentenced a 22-year-old former University of Michigan- Flint student to 20-60 years in prison for his mother's murder.
Prosecutors say Jeffrey Pyne beat and stabbed his mother in May of 2011 because he was tired of dealing with her mental illness and abuse.
Her body was found in the garage of their home in Oakland County.
During sentencing, Pyne told the judge he was innocent and asked for leniency.
