(01/30/13) - There's been another meth bust at a motel in Flint Township.
It happened at the Home Town Inn on Miller Road, just west of I-75.
Flint Township Police got a tip about 1 a.m. Wednesday, got a search warrant and then contacted the Flint Area Narcotics Group, or FANG.
FANG investigators were at the motel well into the morning.
Police tell us there was no active lab, but the drug and components needed to make the drug were found. One man was arrested.
A neighbor we spoke with says he noticed a strong smell of chemicals near the room for the past few days.
"I've got a 3-year-old grandson. There's children here. From what I've seen on TV, it's explosive. It could have taken out that whole area," said resident Paul McNew.
His son, Paul McNew Jr., lives next door to where the scene was Wednesday.
"I've been getting headaches like real crazy," he says.
Housekeeper LaDon White also noticed something suspicious. "(I) knocked on his door everyday, but he always yelled, 'don't need anything' so I just stopped knocking after awhile," she says.
Nearly the same scene played out in June. FANG officials said then there was no active meth lab. Police did find components needed to make the drug and one man was arrested.
ABC12 was unable to reach the motel's owner Wednesday for comment.
Police continue to investigate.
