FLINT (WJRT) -
(02/04/13) - A man who fired a shot at a state trooper in Flint Thursday has been formally charged.
32- year old Walter Smith is facing six felony charges, including assault with intent to murder.
State police say when the trooper tried to stop Smith walking down the street, he fired a shot at the trooper.
The trooper did not fire back.
Smith ran away. Police were able to track him down by following his footprints in the snow.
