(02/05/13) - Two kids in Mount Pleasant are being honored for their contribution that helped save a woman's life.
Fourteen-year-old James Persyn the Third, and his 11-year-old sister Acelin, stepped into action when a CMU student was abducted from a parking lot.
Tuesday was all about honoring them for their incredible bravery.
A CMU student was kidnapped from campus on Jan. 16. She escaped, ran to a home and banged on the door.
The kids let her in and locked the doors while the abductor tried to light the home on fire.
The sheriff says they were instrumental in saving this young woman's life, and Tuesday night they were presented awards at the board of commissioners meeting.
"It's pretty nice to hear but all I really did is open that door for her," James said.
