(02/06/12) - A Mid-Michigan church is hoping to recover thousands of dollars in stolen equipment. Thieves broke into Kingdom Life Ministries International Church on South Jefferson street in Saginaw, sometime between Sunday night and early Monday morning. They took everything from dish detergent and food, to cameras and sound equipment. The church estimates about $10,000 in equipment was stolen. The ministry does have insurance.
Pastor Alvernis Johnson believes he knows who might be responsible, someone who often received help from the ministry.
"We believe it was somebody who used to attend here and was also one of our maintenance people. He knew this building up and down."
He forgives the person, and says he just wants the stolen items back.
"If that person came back today and repented and wanted help, we'd help them again, we just want to recover our lost and stolen things."
The church was in the process of starting a television program to spotlight positive people in Saginaw. It would air on the local Christian channel, but they'll need their cameras.
A police report has been filed. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police or the church.
