Tow truck drivers expecting busy night

Posted: Updated:
FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(02/07/13) - As the snow starts flying across Mid-Michigan, towing companies are getting ready for a busy night.

"This is what we look for, we look for the snow coming," said David Lake, owner of Road Runner Towing and Services in Flint Township.

While most drivers dread it, these guys are looking forward to the flakes.

"We get prepared for it, we get excited," he said.

His drivers are making sure their trucks are in tip-top condition. Each driver took their truck home with them, so they can respond as fast as possible.

"Myself, if I was stuck on the side of the road I wouldn't want to sit there for 30, 40 minutes when the tow truck can be there in 20, 15, 20 minutes," Lake said.

And more of the white stuff means more green for David Lake and his business.

"Hopefully we stay busy and keep people off the road," he said.
