FLINT (WJRT) -

(02/08/13) - As the snow of Winter Storm 2013 makes its way out of Mid-Michigan, people are left with the task of digging out.

While the snow may be a hassle for some, many we spoke to say this amount of snowfall is a sight for sore eyes.

"It's been about three years since I had to start the snow blower," said William Orr, of Flint.

Friday morning, Orr finally had the chance to put his snow blower to the test.

He hadn't planned on spending his morning like this but, "evidently, mother nature had other plans," he said.

She had big plans for Mid-Michigan. Some areas saw up to a foot of snow.

The Flint neighborhood where Orr lives, off Lapeer Road, got more than 5 inches.

"I like this right here, the dry snow, it's easier to move," Orr said.

Despite the hard work of clearing a driveway, many we spoke to are thrilled to do it. For some, the snow is a business opportunity.

"I'm gonna go out and make some money," said Flint resident Billy Beaugard.

Flint resident George Barnes spent his morning going door to door offering to shovel in exchange for cash. With his son's help, they were able to make quite a bit.

"I love it because I mean everybody is making money and it's a lot of fun out here," he said. "It's been a long time. I do it every time it snows, but we haven't got this here in a long time."
