(02/12/13) - In Burton, a tip to police ended with a big meth bust and four people arrested Monday night.
It happened at a home in the 1000 block of Mandeville. Officers arrived and raided the home Monday evening and stayed well into the morning Tuesday.
Police from the Flint Area Narcotics Group, or FANG, are investigating and will seek warrants for those four.
"A thorough search of the residence led us to discover approximately 15 one-pot meth labs inside of the residence, 15 2-liter pop bottles used for meth labs," said Pat Richard, FANG section commander.
Richard said officers found components used and needed to make the drug.
He called it a very good-sized operation and also very dangerous.
"All meth labs are dangerous, but anytime you get that many in the same place and potentially operating at the same time you have a good potential for a big explosion," said Richard.
Richard said two handguns and a couple of ounces of marijuana, also found in the home, were seized.
There were no children at the home, but he said they will be contacting CPS as part of the investigation.
It was a scary scenario for some who live nearby.
"It's always been quite quiet even when it was a dirt road," said Tom Older. He lives about half a block away from the home.
"I was surprised and shocked," said Richard James. He lives almost at the opposite end of the street.
"I've noticed quite a bit a lot of traffic coming in and out of there," James said. "We go to the restaurant down there and see people come and going all the time, but they never stayed long."
