MT. PLEASANT (WJRT) -

(02/21/13) - There has been a crack in the case of a string of armed robberies in Mt. Pleasant. Thursday afternoon, a man in the case faced a judge.

28-year-old Vincent Belmarez was formally charged with robbing with just one of those businesses, a Subway on Mission Street in Mt. Pleasant.

He's currently at the Isabella County Jail on a $950,000 bond.

Three other businesses in the Mt. Pleasant area and nearby Union Township were also hit in the past week. They include a grocery store, gas station and two cash advance stores. Police believe the robberies are related.

Thursday afternoon, investigators say they are working to link Belmarez to those crimes.

In each of the incidents, the suspect had a gun. No one has been injured.

If you have any information about these incidents, contact the Michigan State Police or the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
