(02/25/13) - A Saginaw County man who will get a new trial in a sexual assault case, remains in jail.
A bond hearing for 21-year-old Logan Gaines was adjourned Monday morning at the request of his attorney.
Gaines was convicted last year of sexual assault involving under-aged girls and was serving a four to 15 year prison sentence.
Earlier this month, Saginaw County prosecutor John McColgan granted Gaines' request for a new trial.
The legal move is unusual - in that a higher court did not order a retrial - and McColgan admits Gaines' parents campaigned for the newly elected prosecutor.
Gaines has been released from state prison and is now in the Saginaw County Jail.
