MT MORRIS TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(02/25/13) - It's 18 months probation for a Genesee County grandmother and granddaughter charged in connection with the death of an elderly woman at an unlicensed adult foster care home.

A judge sentenced Vamerolyn and Mary Chapman Monday.

Both women originally faced first degree murder charges for 71-year-old Joann Christopher's death in 2010. Those charges were dropped as part of a plea deal.

Christopher died while living at an unlicensed foster care home, run by the Chapman's, in Mount Morris Township.

She was malnourished and dehydrated.
