SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) -
(02/28/13) - Starting next month, some Saginaw County drivers will be able to hit the gas.
MDOT is raising the speed limit on I-675 from Veterans Memorial Parkway north to Shattuck Road from 55 to 70 miles an hour.
The new limits will take effect as soon as road crews finish putting up new signs.
The decision to raise the speed limit comes following several construction projects and a safety study.
The expressway will also become a detour route during construction on the Zilwaukee Bridge, which begins this spring.
