(03/02/13) - July may seem like a long time away, but organizers for the 51st annual Bay City Fireworks Festival are already busy raising money for the big event.
They are holding a telethon and auction this weekend.
It features everything from autographed memorabilia, to mattresses and TV's, to gift certificates.
Festival president Doug Clark says the fireworks usually cost about $300,000 for the event.
"Its one of our biggest fundraiser's. It gives us a little bit of a boost in the arm to start the season. It gives us $15-20,000 to start off, pay some of the bills going into the season," Clark said.
