SAGINAW (WJRT) -
(03/04/13) - Saginaw Police have identified the man who was shot and killed
outside a community center.
Police found 27- year old Jovan Kimball's body in the parking lot of the
Neighborhood House Community Center, on Russell Street, Monday afternoon.
Now, investigators are searching for the person or persons responsible for
Saginaw's second murder this year.
Those who live in Saginaw say something has to be done to keep the streets
safe.
"It's unsafe and the crime has got to stop. It's not safe for children to be
raised around all the violence," said Amber Nemech, who lives down the street
from where the murder took place.
Just hours after Saginaw's latest murder, memorial was set up in the parking
lot of the Neighborhood House Community Center.
"I walked out my front door and I seen yellow tape and families coming to
witness their loved one dead," Nemech said.
This is the city's second murder this year. The latest on a growing list of
violence in the city this year.
Nemech has a 1 year old and a 4 year old. She says she barely wants to let
them come outside because the crime is too overbearing.
"It's ridiculous. Something has got to stop, people using guns the wrong way.
All the violence, keep young kids off the street," she said.
"We need to come together as a community and not kill each other. We're
supposed to be in this together. This is not right. This is not the Saginaw I
grew up in," said Brandon Curtis, who lives in Saginaw.
Just days ago, the Saginaw Police Department addressed the city's crime
problem. Investigators say tips are a huge help in solving a majority of the
cases. If you have any information about this latest shooting call Saginaw
