(03/14/13) - Halo Burger is nearly doubling its presence across the state.

Dortch Enterprises says the Genesee County-based chain, will open eight new locations by the end of the year.

The newest restaurant is expected to open in the 1100 block of North Belsay Road in Burton by March 27. There will also be a brand new Subway at that location.

In the meantime, there are plans to put five Halo Burgers in Oakland County. According to published reports, the new locations are in Troy, Clarkston, Novi, Bingham Farms and Farmington Hills. In addition, there will be new locations in Brighton and one in East Lansing. All of the new Halo Burgers should be up and running by the end of the year.

This marks the first expansion by the restaurant beyond the borders of Genesee and Saginaw County.
