(03/15/13) - Flushing Township Police will be back on the job Monday.
The township board approved the move Thursday night. It comes after an arbitrator awarded the officers their jobs back in January.
Three officers sued after they lost their jobs last year when the township decided to dissolve the police department. They're working on getting back patrol cars and other police equipment.
It's likely the officers won't be on patrol until May. Until then, they'll be working on township ordinances and reorganizing the department.
The township's contract with the Genesee County Sheriff's Department has been extended to April 30.
