FLINT (WJRT) -

(03/19/13) - A Flint family fears the worst. Their loved one - a daughter, a sister, a mother of three - has been missing for almost a week.

The family of 27-year-old Tanisha Colton says she was last seen leaving her workplace last Wednesday, but no one has seen or heard from her since.

Now her family is taking matters into their own hands, trying to track her down.

Tanisha Colton's family plans to distribute flyers around her north-side neighborhood Wednesday morning.

They say she was last seen with her boyfriend.

"We're going to come together as a community, as a family, and just try to get her home," said Marquel Sadler, Tanisha's cousin.

Family and friends say the last time anyone saw Tanisha, she left her job at Heritage Manor on Beecher Road with her boyfriend. That was around 3 p.m. last Wednesday.

"He told her to come, let's go, and she did, and she had a black eye, and then she left with him. We haven't heard anything else from her, it's like, she's just gone," said Ida Nappier, Tanisha's grandmother.

The family says the couple had a turbulent relationship, and they're worried about where she might be.

"It's out of her character to just come up missing and not let anybody know where she's at or how she's doing, especially her kids," Sadler said.

Her family says she was wearing nursing scrubs when she went missing. Wednesday morning, the family plans to post her picture around her home on Gillespie Avenue, hoping someone might be able to help track her down.

"We're going to stay strong, whatever the outcome is, as a family, as a unit, and get through it. We're just trying to move on and get it behind us," Sadler said.

It's unclear where Tanisha's boyfriend is. Her family has contacted the Flint Police. They hope the flyers they put up will help bring Tanisha home, where her three children are waiting for her.
