Two killed in Saginaw Township car crash

(03/20/13) - Two people are dead after a car crash on Gratiot  Road at Davis Road in Saginaw Township.

The accident involving three vehicles carrying five people happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Saginaw Township Police have identified the deceased as 63-year-old Carol Lyle of Bridgeport, and her sister, 67-year-old Judith Kelly of Bridgeport. Both where riding as passengers in their sister's Chevrolet Impala when the accident happened. Their sister, 63-year-old Patricia Aldrich, survived, but was taken to the hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.  

Police say a 45-year-old Saginaw man was driving a silver Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on Gratiot. He somehow crossed the roadway into the eastbound traffic lanes and hit the Impala and a black Jeep Liberty. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The 69-year-old female driver of the Jeep Liberty is from Thomas Township. She was also taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  

Police are still investigating.
