Firefighters battle fire at a Burton business after hours - ABC 12 – WJRT – Flint, MI

(03/22/13) - In Genesee County Friday night, after a business caught fire - after hours.

Firefighters were called out to the old Palace Gardens bar on Dort Highway, near Hemphill in Burton around 8 p.m.

Now, it's an appliance repair store, and thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the building.

The Burton Fire Department had to temporarily shutdown Dort to get the scene under control.

The building has severe smoke damage and fire officials say several appliances inside were likely lost.

It's too early to tell how the fire started.
