Aaron Idle's family speaks out

Posted: Updated:
GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) -

(06/06/13)  A Mid-Michigan mother is fighting for closure after the search for her missing son ended in heart break.

Investigators and the community have been searching for Aaron Idle since he went missing last March.

The search was called off because the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department believes his body is buried in landfill in Genesee County. They have no plans to recover it.

Thursday, Aaron's family talked to ABC12.

They are writing letters to lawmakers and taking to social media to generate support hoping to push local enforcement agencies to dig up Aaron's body.

Investigators say a 34-year-old Owosso Township man claims Idle overdosed on drugs and he dumped his body in a dumpster.

That dumper was taken to the landfill.

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's department say his body is buried under so much trash that it would be difficult to recover his body.

Aaron's family says that doesn't matter. They need his body to find out exactly how he died and so they can have the closure they desperately need.

" I want to lay my son to rest, have him buried properly so myself and all his children have a place to go and pay their respects," Pam Idle said.

A Facebook page has been started called "Help find Aaron Idle". Pam posted a message, and so far, they have gotten more than 1,700 likes.

There is also a petition drive.
