(08/14/13) - Another Central Michigan University professor is in trouble with the law.
This time for allegedly taking inappropriate pictures of young girls.
The Mecosta County Sheriff says 63-year-old philosophy professor John Meixner is accused of taking the pictures at the Mecosta County Fair last month. Police watched as he took the pictures of girls walking by and on rides.
Police say a background check on the professor showed he had been investigated twice in Isabella County for taking inappropriate pictures of girls in Mount Pleasant.
As for the University, they released a statement, in part, saying, "At this point, we are monitoring the situation as closely as possible while also allowing the legal system to proceed."
Just last month, former CMU professor William Merrill was sentenced to more than five years behind bars for receiving child porn.
Merrill was researching censorship when police found thousands of images of child porn on his work computer last year.
Merrill admitted to downloading the images in 2003.
