FLINT (WJRT) -

(08/18/13) - A late night trip to a Mid-Michigan party store turned deadly Saturday night. A man was shot and killed in the parking lot with customers around.

Whoever shot him is still on the loose.

It happened Saturday around 10:45 p.m. at the South End Market on South Saginaw in Flint.

"Customers were coming in and saying a guy got run over in the parking lot," said Jimmy Jones, an employee at the store.

The South End Market was open, and Jones was working Saturday night when it happened. Scared customers say a man was shot, and then run over in this parking lot.

Police say it was 29-year-old Gregory Watkins. He was rushed to the hospital, but he didn't make it.

A 25-year-old, Demario Booth, was also shot in the wrist and is expected to recover.

Jones says it's just sad this keeps happening.

"This is my second one I had to go through, so I feel for the families that go through this, we just hope that things can get better," he said.

Jones was there the last time this happened in April of 2012. Shots rang out and 24-year old Danielle Woods was found dead in the same parking lot.

"This is a good place to shop, the community really loves it. Unfortunately, this thing happened last night," Jones said. "We feel for the family."

Jones says it's terrible this latest shooting had to happen just hours after such an uplifting event for downtown - Back to the Bricks.

"Back to the Bricks was so great this year," he said. "People enjoyed themselves all around this area, but you can't stop everyone who does the things they do."

Police haven't arrested anyone, but here's a description of who they're looking for: A male in his 20s, between 5'6" and 5'9" tall, with a thin build, dark complexion and wearing dark clothing.
